FAQ

1. Can I import a used passenger car to the Philippines?

Ordinary used passenger cars are generally prohibited. Exceptions exist for returning residents, diplomatic personnel, and certain special categories. Electrification does not automatically waive the used-car ban.

2. What about electric tricycles?

Electric cargo tricycles and e-trikes may qualify under special vehicle categories. DTI and LTO approvals are required. Verify the specific vehicle's classification before purchase.

3. Are RHD vehicles also prohibited?

Yes. The Philippines prohibits both used passenger cars and right-hand drive vehicles. Only LHD vehicles are permitted.
